Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • From the workstations using SOCKS5 proxy, when trying to connect Openshift API using 'oc' client, it is giving the following error. The proxy server is tunneled through SSH on port localhost:21080.
username@workstation1:~$ oc login https://openshift.cluster.example.com
error: EOF
[username@workstation1 ~]$ https_proxy=socks5://localhost:21080 oc get --raw /healthz --server https://openshift.cluster.example.com
Unable to connect to the server: proxy: SOCKS5 proxy at localhost:21080 failed to connect: host unreachable
  • Is using SOCKS5 proxy with 'oc' client supported?

Environment
