Issue
- NetworkManager allows default gateway or other next-hop router in a different subnet
- For example, the following
GATEWAYrouter is not in the locally connected subnet:
PREFIX=24
IPADDR=192.168.0.101 ## range 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.0.255
GATEWAY=192.168.1.1 ## gateway address is outside above range
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- NetworkManager
- IP network with default gateway or other next-hop router
