Why does thread count increase when using the Hystrix Camel component?

Issue

• When implementing the Hystrix Camel component, the thread count increases the longer the route is running. This may eventually lead to the application displaying general slowness or halting.
• Several threads within the camel route start to experience a slow down and are observed "Waiting".
