What is the impact of having an incorrect character in /etc/multipath.conf ?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We have on many systems within /etc/multipath.conf incorrect section:
device {
vendor "HP~T
product "HSV2[01]0|HSV300|HSV4[05]0"
getuid_callout "/sbin/scsi_id -g -u -s /block/%n"
  • The vendor line is finished with (here displayed as ~T) hex of the character is 94 (which is according to ascii table "closing" quote. This is issue of our script, but question is how this line impacts the multipath itself. We are still thinking if we really need to do anything to fix it? We can't see any issue on the servers.
  • The section for devices HP - HSV200, HSV201, HSV300, HSV400, HSV450 - has a wrong string for the vendor (char 0x94 instead of the closing double quotes).

Environment
