Unable to mount the LVM volumes created over FCoE during boot time

Issue

  • LVM volumes created over FCoE storage devices are not mounted during boot time, and following error message is logged on the console:

    $ grep vgname /var/log/boot.log
        Mounting other filesystems:  mount: special device /dev/vgname/lvname does not exist
    
  • After completion of boot process lvm volumes could be activate with lvchange -ay and mount properly.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • FCoE storage
