Why non-root users are not able to access scanner attached to system using "sane-backend" ?

Issue

  • Non-Root users are not able to access scanner attached to system using sane-backends while root user not facing any issues.
  • "scanimage -L" cannot detect the device under user login. Under root login,there is no problem.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • sane-backends-1.0.21-3.el6.x86_64
  • sane-backends-libs-1.0.21-3.el6.x86_64
