machines with BIOS dates extremely wrong fail to boot:

Issue

  • Some of the customers older machines have CMOS dates that are way out.
  • Since they are diskless they are often just unplugged (forced power off) and so they don't go through the normal shutdown path which updates the CMOS clock and so several of them got of in the weeds.
