disk quota exceeded error prevents writing to an XFS file system

  • podman fails with error copying system image ... : disk quota exceeded): exit status 1

    $ podman run  -i -t --rm ubi9:latest bash
    ...
    Error: copying system image from manifest list: writing blob: adding layer with blob "sha256:xxx": processing tar file(open /usr/bin/dbus-broker-launch: disk quota exceeded): exit status 1
