kernel: request_module: runaway loop modprobe fs-nfs

Issue

  • Around 60 NFS shares mentioned in the /etc/fstab file. A server reboot caused almost half of the shares to be unmounted afterwards. Following errors are observed in the /var/log/messages:
systemd: Mounting /data/op/mount-point16...
systemd: Starting Availability of block devices...
systemd: Started System Logging Service.
kernel: request_module: runaway loop modprobe fs-nfs
mount: mount error: nfs filesystem not supported by the system
kernel: request_module: runaway loop modprobe fs-nfs
mount: mount error: nfs filesystem not supported by the system
mount: mount error(19): No such device
