The partition /usr is 100% utilized, can the files/directories from /usr be moved in another mount point?

Issue

  • The partition /usr has no disk space remaining in it. Its not an LVM volume.
  • Can the files/directories be moved from /usr to some other newly created mount point and be used as new /usr ?
  • Is there any way to achieve it in RHEL6?
  • When I install JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP), it is unzipped to /usr/share/jbossas, but I have only limited disk space remaining, can I mount a new disk under /usr?
