Why does Firefox window shrinks to 0 pixels when I try to resize it by dragging one of its corners in Oracle Secure Global Desktop?

Issue

Resizing a Firefox window when running on third party Oracle Secure Global Desktop (fka Tarantella) causes window to shrink immediately to a width of 0 pixels, showing only a small portion of the window decoration, and none of the window content.
Window can't be maximized or re-scaled any more.
Firefox disappears when window is resized.

Environment

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
Firefox 17 ESR version 17.0.10-1.el5_10 or earlier.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
Firefox 17 ESR version 17.0.9-1 or earlier.
Oracle Secure Global Desktop.
