Can't delete an EAP 6 Domain Application from JBoss ON

Solution Verified - Updated -

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON)
    • 3.1.2
  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6.x

Issue

  • I tried to delete a war application from my EAP6 Domain Controller > Deployments by clicking on the Delete button, but it is still on my Child resources list

Resolution

  • Make sure to delete the deployment from any server groups that it's deployed to, before deleting it from the Domain.

Root Cause

Looking at the agent log at the time of the deletion attempt, it's EAP 6 that is not allowing the deletion:

2013-07-08 17:45:50,281 INFO  [ResourceContainer.invoker.nonDaemon-67] (rhq.modules.plugins.jbossas7.DomainDeploymentComponent)- delete resource: deployment=sample.war ...
2013-07-08 17:45:50,286 WARN  [ResourceContainer.invoker.nonDaemon-67] (rhq.modules.plugins.jbossas7.ASConnection)- We got a 500 with the following response body back: {"outcome" : "failed", "failure-description" : {"domain-failure-description" : "JBAS010861: Cannot remove deployment sample.war from the domain as it is still used by server groups [main-server-group, other-server-group]"}, "rolled-back" : true}
