JBoss EWS 2 fails to start because it "Could not open configuration file jboss-ews-2.0/httpd/conf.d/"

Issue

  • EWS fails to start with the following error:

    httpd: Syntax error on line 219 of jboss-ews-2.0/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Could not open configuration file jboss-ews-2.0/httpd/conf.d/

  • We note EWS 2 has the following symlink:

    jboss-ews-2.0/httpd/conf.d/auth_kerb.conf -> /etc/httpd/conf.d/auth_kerb.conf

    There is no such file on our system though so it looks like this is the cause.
