Issue

  • Upgrading the OpenShift Container Platform EFK (logging) stack fails with the following error message:

    Cluster <cluster name> was unable to recover to a green state. Please see documentation regarding recovering during a rolling cluster restart.

  • We have some large shards (50 GB or more) in our elasticsearch cluster that do not finish initializing before the Ansible playbook returns the above error.
