Changes to the logging subsystem are not persisted to the logging.properties in offline CLI in JBoss EAP 7

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Changes to the logging subsystem are not persisted to the logging.properties in offline CLI in JBoss EAP 7

  • We have a JBoss install process which creates the final, configured application with the following steps, where we remove the FILE logging handler and just use the CONSOLE handler. When we start JBoss the server.log is created until the logging subsystem is started and then it does not write to the server.log any more, we do not want the server.log to be created.

    • unzip the original jboss zip
    • runs embedded server with cli
    • makes modules, apply patches, makes configuration changes using cli
