While opening a serial port in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, the process hangs.

Issue

  • While using serial port in BLOCKING MODE on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 the program is hanging at open call.
  • open()'ing the serial port without O_NONBLOCKING causes the program to hang

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Any of the following card
    • Exar XR17D158 16 channel serial port addon card
    • Oxford Semiconductor Ltd OX16PCI954 addon card
