Since version 1.3.15, the upstream HAProxy has included a Perl script for providing information through SNMP.  Please refer to section 3.4.1 of recent upstream documentation for information concerning this Perl script.  One can access the script through the upstream Git repository.

Although the capability of monitoring HAProxy is available upstream, Red Hat does not package nor provide direct support for it.  Nonetheless, below is an example of setting this up, provided for educational purposes, only.  Users should always evaluate the security, stability and performance implications of using upstream/3rd-party software, as well as the suppositious SNMP daemon configuration settings illustrated, below.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7
    • HAProxy 1.5
