User can authenticate with 'oc login' command but cannot do it in the OpenShift Web Console

Issue

  • A recently created user for OpenShift, which was configured with an authentication provider HTPasswdPasswordIdentityProvider type, can authenticate through CLI running the oc login command, but the same user cannot authenticate through the OpenShift Web Console.

  • When trying to login in the OpenShift Web Console with the newly created user, it gets the following error message:

    Invalid login or password. Please try again.
