Getting a 'Non-fatal POSTTRANS scriptlet failure' while installing new kernel, Why ?

Issue

  • When attempting to install kernel-2.6.32-358.11.1.el6.x86_64, I receive the following error:
Non-fatal POSTTRANS scriptlet failure in rpm package kernel-2.6.32-358.11.1.el6.x86_64
  • It does not install the initramfs or the initrd img files in the /boot directory. The /boot directory is only 14% utilized.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
