SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/mdadm from read access on the blk_file md0

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • After installing Performance Co-Pilot (PCP) on a system with md raid, enabling the pmcd service and rebooting the system we are seeing SELinux errors related to mdadm.
  • The source context for /dev/md0 [ blk_file ] or md0 [ blk_file ] is system_u:system_r:pcp_pmcd_t:s0, however expected context is system_u:object_r:fixed_disk_device_t:s0.
  • SELinux is preventing mdadm from open access on the blk_file /dev/md0.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
