How does newly introduced docker PID limit affects Openshift Container Storage?

Issue

• docker recently has introduced the PID limit to 4096 as the default value. There are chances to hit the 4096 limits with the increase in PVC backed up by Openshift Container Storage. Once you hit the limit you might observe Openshift Container Storage not behaving well. Few general symptoms which can be observed are :
  • glusterfs-server pods stop responding
  • glusterfs-server pods are crashing
  • rsh'ing into the pods is not working and many other side effects.
