Why is my applicaiton being spamed every 2 seconds with HTTP requests?

Issue

When I deploy my app on the server (Tomcat 7 + HAProxy), the "/" URL is being requested by something (I am suspecting the source is HAProxy?) every 2 seconds. Why is this?
Node.js application malfunctioning
HAProxy spams my log and sessions
