KVM guest hangs at boottime - last message is from serial port driver
Issue
A Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 KVM guest hangs at boottime after the serial port driver has logged the following console message:
Serial: 8250/16550 driver, 4 ports, IRQ sharing enabled
This issue can only occur with KVM guests that have more than one virtual CPU and that are using the clocksource kvm-clock.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 KVM host
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 KVM guest
