ssh: error while doing ssh packet_write_wait: Connection to UNKNOWN port 65535: Broken pipe

Issue

  • Ssh login is failing due to below error.

    [user@client ~]$ ssh root@192.168.x.y
Password:
packet_write_wait: Connection to UNKNOWN port 65535: Broken pipe

  • In file /var/log/secure following error is observed.

    Dec  1 11:44:40 Client sshd[31422]: Failed password for 'user' from 'address' port 50355 ssh2
Dec  1 11:44:40 Client sshd[31422]: Accepted keyboard-interactive/pam for 'user' from 'address' port 50355 ssh2
Dec  1 11:44:40 Client sshd[31422]: fatal: PAM: pam_setcred(): Permission denied
