Why DHCP server pass wrong dns servers to DHCPINFORM?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The windows client does a DHCPDISCOVER, receives a DHCPOFFER (with the correct DNS - i.e 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2), does a DHCPREQUEST and gets a DHCPACK with the correct DNS, again.

  • A few seconds later, Windows does a DHCPINFORM and receives a DHCPACK with the wrong dns servers 3.3.3.3 and 4.4.4.4. With this incorrect ack, Windows changes its DNS config to have the wrong servers.

Environment
