Multipath unable to see new lun, returns error message: "error calling out /sbin/scsi_id -g -u -s /block/sda"
Issue
- Added a new lun to the server which can be seen with fdisk, but when running
multipath -v2to rescan for new lun, it returns the following error and the multipath device is not created:
[root@localhost ~]# multipath -v2
0:2:0:0: sg_io failed status 0x8 0x0 0x0 0x2
0:2:0:0: sense result too small 8 bytes
0:2:0:0: Unable to get INQUIRY vpd 1 page 0x0.
error calling out /sbin/scsi_id -g -u -s /block/sda
