lspci - I/O Ports are shown as [disabled] for Serial PCI Cards in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 which do not have drivers.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • In lspci - I/O Ports are shown as [disabled] for serial PCI Cards which are not having the device drivers as below:

            Region 1: I/O ports at df00 [disabled] [size=128]
            Region 2: I/O ports at de00 [disabled] [size=64]
            Region 3: I/O ports at ddb0 [disabled] [size=16]

  • These devices could be configured to work using setserial command to configure the Serial Ports from the  I/O resouces that are received from lspci command as the device does not device drivers.

  • The same devices works properly without drivers in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
