Hosted Engine deployment fails due to "libvirtd is not running!"

Issue

Using cockpit the Hosted Engine deployment fails with:

libvirtd is not running! Please ensure it is running before starting the wizard, so system capabilities can be queried.

checking libvirtd.service using journalctl command, there is following error message:

error : virNetTLSContextCheckCertTimes:146 : The server certificate /etc/pki/vdsm/certs/vdsmcert.pem has expired
