ccs_tool, system-config-cluster, and Conga fail to update the configuration if ccsd port numbers changed from default in a RHEL 5 High Availability cluster

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • If I change the ports used by ccsd and then try to use ccs_tool update, I get a "bad file descriptor" error
# cat /etc/sysconfig/cman
CCSD_OPTS="-P f:40006 -P b:40008 -P c:40009"</code>

# ccs_tool update /etc/cluster/cluster.conf
Unable to open connection to nodea: Bad file descriptor
  • Using RHEL 6 Conga to configure RHEL 5 cluster, Under Fence Devices we add HP ILo and then submit. However, after hitting Submit, the page reloads, but the devices are not showing under Fence Devices.
  • If I make a change to the configuration in Conga, the page submits but then when it refreshes the change did not stick

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 with the High Availability Add On
  • cman prior to cman-2.0.115-85.el5
