Resolution

What to do if there are no further users with Org Admin privilege under the account?

  • The person replacing an account's existing Organization Administrator should send an email request to the Red Hat Customer Service team, who will send the approval verbiage. As part of the procedure, authentication via alternative media will be required, that will likely take some time.
  • As soon as Customer Service receives the approval, they will assist in completing the request.
  • After taking over as the account's Organization Administrator, you may go to the User Management page to add new users or deactivate an existing user. These actions can be performed from the user management option.

What to do if there are other Org Admins on the account?

  • Red Hat Customer Service will advise if there are any other Org Admins in the account. In this case, the person taking over can also reach out to the existing Org Admins to receive Org Admin privileges.

What are some best practises regarding user management related to Red Hat customer portal?

It is recommended to have at least 2 users with 'Org admin' permissions, as we have seen multiple instances of all org admins leaving a company, and the company then having to undergo a procedure to regain org admin permissions for a user on the account. Details for that procedure are in the previous sections of this kbase.
