Yum fails with the error "[Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 56 - SSL connection receive timeout" on RHEL 6

Issue

  • Yum update fails with the following errror:
Error: failed to retrieve repodata/filelists.xml.gz from rhel-x86_64-server-6  --:-- ETA
       error was [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 56 - "SSL connection receive timeout"
 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
 You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
