Cluster service does not relocate when network cable is pulled and NFS share is mounted on cluster nodes on Red Hat Enterprise 6

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Cluster service does not relocate when network cable is pulled and NAS shares are mounted in the server outside of the cluster.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6 (with the High Availability Add on)
  • Red Hat High Availability (Cluster Suite) Cluster with 2 or more nodes
  • Each cluster node acts as an NFS client (ie. It mounts NFS shares to it from another source).

    • Mount options include hard so if the NFS share is unavailable, I/O's to the device hang.
    • Automount (autofs) is configured using an autofs map that is located on an NFS mounted filesystem:
  • rgmanager controlling cluster services and resources

    • At least one of the services has a filesystem resource (fs).
