High softirq on vCPU0 of OpenStack instances/VNFs using SRIOV interfaces
Issue
- High %Soft observed in vCPU0 of OpenStack instances/VNFs using SRIOV interfaces.
- There are 2 VNFs in a compute node (one in NUMA0 and the other in NUMA1). High %soft is seen in vCPU0 of instances running in NUMA0.
- VNFs are hitting close to 100% softirq on certain CPUs
Environment
- Red Hat OpenStack Platform 10
- Compute kernel : kernel-3.10.0-693.17.1.el7 ( RHEL7.4 based )
- Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller XL710 for 40GbE QSFP+ ( SRIOV nic using i40e driver )
