vi/vim not showing ^M control character

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I'm using vi/vim to open and edit a file and I'm not seeing the control character ^M from files that have been edited or created on Windows. Even with the 'set list' option enabled they're not visible.

Is this expected behaviour?

Environment
