Issue

  • Adding a Storage Domains creates significant load on the storage
  • Adding a Storage Domain makes some guests become unresponsive
  • Mapping a new LUN and creating a new SD on them causes high cpu steal on some guests
  • The behaviour can be observed for about 60secs inside the VM

Environment

  • Red Hat Virtualization 4.x
    • Data-Center (Storage Pool) already contains dozens (30+) of Data Storage Domains
    • Block Storage (FibreChannel or iSCSI)
    • vdsm-4.19, vdsm-4.20
