tpm_tis operation timed out and then tpm_send returns error -5
Issue
After some number of operations performed on TPM there is error like this in kernel log:
tpm_tis 00:09: Operation Timed out
tpm_tis 00:09: tpm_transmit: tpm_send: error -5
After this operations on TPM do not work. Occurrence of the bug is very rare.
Environment
- RHEL 6.8 and later releases
- RHEL 7 and RHEL 8 (however, we didn't observe this bug on RHEL7 or RHEL8 yet)
- TPM chip from STM installed with firmware 1.2.8.28
