Problems with IPV6 routing table in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

  • IPV6 routing table not updated with many interfaces or ipv6 clients
  • Why only about 2000 ipv6 alias addresses could be added to a net interface?

    By default only about 2000 ipv6 alias addresses could be added to a net interface, then error message like below shows up.

    [root@wwwx ~]# ip -6 addr add 2001:4860:0:2001::3001  dev lo
    RTNETLINK answers: Cannot allocate memory
    

    can we add more ipv6 address to a network interface?
