Satellite 5.8 Web User Interface is unresponsive

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After a Satellite upgrade to version 5.8, the Automatic Bug Reporting Tool (ABRT) started alerting for a problem with java-1.8.0-ibm and tomcat.
  • The Satellite web user interface was unresponsive and either a restart of Satellite services or reboot of the system had to be performed to workaround the problem.
