Ksh sends a signal to itself if exit status is larger than 256 (256 + signal value)

Issue

  • On RHEL7 if a shell script calls exit with a value of 256 + {1..__SIGRTMAX} ksh would kill itself with exit_value - 256.
  • On RHEL8 this behaviour no longer exist.
