Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • mount.nfs hangs in nfsv4 code path tearing down callback channel when mounting without 'vers=' option
  • mount.nfs hangs when attempting a nfs4 mount against a server that does not support NFS4.1 but does support NFS4.0

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (NFS4 client)
    • seen on kernels: 3.10.0-693.11.6.el7, 3.10.0-957.1.3.el7, 3.10.0-1160.11.1.el7
  • Any NFS server
    • configured to support NFS4.0 but not NFS4.1
  • mount.nfs command without a forced NFS version (no "-o vers=" option given)
