Issue

  • On ext3 filesystem, user can allocate blocks over quota limit with mmap.
  • This problem is reported in ext3 community.

    • Now, ext3 maintainers raise the priority of rebasing correction patch and are strugging.

      • This problem also occurs on ext2, but does not occur on ext4 and xfs.

      • This problem also occurs on latest vanilla kernel(2.6.35).

      • This problem also occurs on RHEL6 Snapshot10.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 snapshot 8
  • kernel-2.6.32-52.el6.x86_64
  • ext2 or ext3
