system-config-securitylevel in RHEL5 does not offer the 'trusted device' feature

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • In RHEL4 there was a provision to define an interface as "trusted" using the tool, "system-config-securitylevel" - This feature is missing in RHEL 5.
  • It is still possible to define it by "lokkit -q -t eth1", but using the graphical interface later on, the entry in  /etc/sysconfig/iptables is deleted again.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
