Why does system logs error messages while shutting down a server using EMC networker?

Issue

  • While the system is trying to unmount the file systems following error message appears.
umount: /var: device is busy.
        (In some cases useful info about processes that use the 
         the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1))
umount: /tmp: device is busy.
         (In some cases useful info about processes that use the 
         the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1))
umount: /nsr: device is busy.
         (In some cases useful info about processes that use the 
         the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1))

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (ALL)
  • EMC Networker client
