How can I create my own custom banner page when using CUPS in RHEL 7?

Issue

  • How can I create a custom banner page?

  • I tried to create a custom banner using the following:

    Raw
    #CUPS-BANNER`
show job-id job-name job-originating-user-name time-at-creation
Header SECRET
Footer SECRET

    However, this isn't working. I get the following message in the CUPS error_log:

    Raw
    unable to convert file 0 to printable format

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) 1.6.3
