Can the JBoss ON agent manage a cloned machine for purposes of high-availability or disaster recovery?
Issue
- Best practices for monitoring a clustered service
- Can an agent just report 'once' even if it's running from two servers that provide a Red Hat Cluster Suite (RHCS) service?
- Agents are treated separately when one node fails and its fail-over node comes online
- Inventory is duplicated
- How to monitor using JBoss Operation Network a failover service that run in a cluster with resilient storage add-on?
- JON Agent in cluster with Resilent Storage.
- We have two services in cluster (HA) with Resilent Storage: PostgreSQL and JBoss Fuse. These services that are in cluster work in fail-over mode. We think that if we install an agent in every server in the cluster, the agents are going to report the second service as unavailable when in this case is the normal functionality. We would like to know how to configure or manage the JON agent for these servers, so we can normally monitor them.
Environment
- Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON)
- 3.1
- 3.2
- 3.3 - Two or more hosts (physical or virtual):
- With identical configuration and services for the purpose of high-availability (HA) fail-over or disaster recovery (DR)
- JBoss ON agent configured to communicate with the same JBoss ON server
