WIll Red Hat continue to support me if I use Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Desktop and install KVM rpm's from another source?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I am doing a standard RHEL5 desktop build (which is then activated and tied to the satellite server), and then adding the necessary QEMU/KVM RPMs from a Centos repository.
    • Does this setup invalidate the support that comes with the RHEL5 desktop license ie: If we file a support case regarding something unrelated to QEMU/KVM, would these RPMs prevent you from supporting the system as a whole?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Desktop (not Multi-OS).
    • KVM and QEMU packages sourced from external projects (eg CentOS).
