JON installation on Oracle SYS.V$XATRANS$ view

Environment

  • JBoss Operations Network(JON) 2.3, 2.4, 3.0, 3.1
  • Oracle Relational Database

Issue

  • In the documentation for JON 2.3 and Oracle 10g, one of the grants specified is as follows:

    GRANT SELECT ON  SYS.V$XATRANS$ TO JBOSS_ON_OWNER;

  • That table does not exist in Oracle 11g. 

  • Ignore the requirement or is there a different table that needs the SELECT granted? 

  • Are  there instructions for JON 2.4 and Oracle 11g?

Resolution

This GRANT isn't needed in JON at all, only the following are needed for XA in Oracle:

GRANT SELECT ON sys.dba_pending_transactions TO jon;
GRANT SELECT ON sys.pending_trans$ TO jon;
GRANT SELECT ON sys.dba_2pc_pending TO jon;
GRANT EXECUTE ON sys.dbms_system TO jon;
