SCSI mapping issues under RHEL6 U4 kernel

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Upgrading dell 720 hardware from kernel 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64 to 2.6.32-358.2.1.el6.x86_64 introduces an issue with the order in which SCSI devices are mapped. The systems are using qlogic HBAs running from the qla2xxx driver. Under the updated kernel some of the LUNs made available from SAN storage are being processed and mapped before the onboard PERC H710P controller.
