Files opened on read-only nfs mount consume kernel level file pointers and are never released.
Issue
- The number of open file handles continues to increase.
- kernel: VFS: file-max limit 4908788 reached
- Kernel reaches file limits open, userspace tools do not agree with the count.
- Using lsof and interating through /proc/pid/fd list show less than file-max open.

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4
- Observed between kernel version between 2.6.32-358.2.1 and 2.6.32-369
