Repository sync fails with RPM1004: Error retrieving metadata: A connection error occurred

Issue

  • While trying to sync repositories on Satellite, it fails withRPM1004: Error retrieving metadata: A connection error occurred

  • Built satellite using below command.

satellite-installer --scenario satellite --upgrade --foreman-initial-organization "Satorg"  --foreman-initial-location "Location"  --foreman-admin-username admin  --foreman-admin-password  xxxxx  --foreman-proxy-dns-managed=false  --foreman-proxy-dhcp-managed=false   --katello-proxy-url=http://proxy.example.com --katello-proxy-port=8080
  • Connection test fails as follows :
#nc -v -w 5 cdn.redhat.com 443

Ncat: Connection timed out.
